Delete your account

You can delete your Kaisuki account at any time. You do not need to ask permission and you do not need to give a reason.

In the app — takes a minute

  1. 1.Open Settings → Account.
  2. 2.Scroll to Delete account.
  3. 3.Confirm. You stay signed in and are shown the date. Your account is deleted automatically if you don't open Kaisuki for 30 days; opening Kaisuki cancels it. Using Kaisuki in the hour after you ask doesn't count. If you stay away, the account and the data below are deleted on that date — or immediately once an admin approves the request. If you come back and still want it gone, request it again.

Can't sign in? Email us

You do not need the app, or access to your account, to have it deleted. Email [email protected] from the address on the account, with the subject Account deletion request.

Include your username if you remember it. If you no longer control the email address, say so and we will ask for something else that proves the account is yours — we will not delete an account on the word of someone who cannot show it belongs to them, because that would be a way to delete other people's.

We reply within 7 days and complete deletion 30 days after we confirm it is yours. Signing back in within those 30 days cancels the deletion.

What gets deleted

Your profile
Username, display name, avatar, banner, bio, pronouns, status — deleted. The username is released.
Your email, password and sign-ins
Email and password hash deleted; Google and Apple sign-in links removed; every session signed out; push tokens removed from your devices.
Device and connection records
Your device fingerprints, IP history and the links from our visitor log to your account — deleted, unless the account is the subject of reports or moderation action (see below).
Your connections
Friendships, blocks, favourites and private notes — deleted.
Cosmetics and Kikkō
Deleted with the account. Kikkō has no cash value and is not refundable.
Servers you own
Transferred or deleted — tell us which when you ask, or we delete them.

What we keep, and why

Message, post and comment text
What you wrote in servers, forums and DMs stays where it was sent, shown as "Deleted user" with no name, avatar or link back to you. Delete anything you want gone before you delete the account.
Kikkō ledger and payout records
The accounting record of Kikkō earned, spent and paid out is kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, attached to the account's id only.
Moderation records
If your account was banned or reported, we keep the record and the reason. Deleting an account cannot be a way to erase a ban and return under a new one.
Identifying details, where there are reports or moderation action
If your account is the subject of a report, or has been banned, we retain the email, username, display name, sign-in identifiers and device and IP records for moderation and legal purposes. Where there are none, these are deleted with everything else.
Legal and financial records
Where the law requires us to keep something — a report to authorities, a payment record — we keep only that, for only as long as required.
Anonymous aggregates
Counts that no longer identify you (how many people used a feature) stay. They cannot be traced back and cannot be un-aggregated.
